Yes, the HL15 will be using standard DDR4 RAM which can be changed out for faster or larger RAM sticks
Can we purchase a different load out for the HL15 than what we put the deposit in for? (Deposit for Chasis + Backplane but would like to purchase Full System)
Hi @HotChicken, the only way you can change your preorder would be to email info@45homelab.com and request the change
How much will rails cost?
They’ve said previously that they’ll be approximately $60 USD. Here’s a link to that post:
how much is shipping roughly to Australia?
HI @Edvard_Greig, the Shipping cost would have been estimated when you put your shipping info in for the preorder. if you would like you can go through the preorder process again to see what the shipping cost will be estimated as
Hi Hutch
It is 341.00 USD to Australia - any way of reducing the shipping cost as it is almost half the price of the product!
Cheers
Edvard
Have you considered the rolling stands for full size towers available on Amazon. The ones incorporating a curb or sides look best for your application.
I did not know these were a thing.
This is exactly what I need.
Thanks!
Another option is to use ‘wire’ racks for your equipment. They are pretty cheap and can hold quite a bit of weight. You can put casters on them too. Amazon sells them, but if you want to customize you might want to checkout some other sites.
I have not ordered from this site - yet. They have quite a few options.
Wire Shelving
Do you have specific info on the RAM sticks? The order page just said 2x 8GB or 2x 16GB. I would like to order more RAM but want to make sure they are compatible with each other. Could you please be provide all the specs? Assuming DDR 4 ECC RDIMM, but what speed and are they 2R4 or 2R8?
20" x 17" x 7"
So these are the dimensions, is that Depth x Width x Height?
I am fairly new to this, will this fit in a rack that’s standard 19 inches internal width, or will I need to get one that’s smaller in width?
Self bump on the RAM question.
@Vikram-45HomeLabs or @Hutch-45Drives ?
HI @bluetext, yes you are correct. 20" is the length, 17" is the width and 7" is the height. these are designed to work in a standard rack enclosure.
Hi @Krushal, this is the RAM we are shipping with the HL15

I hope this clears up any questions you might have about the RAM details.
Although I couldn’t find it specifically listed in the micron data sheet. The part # MTA18ASF2G72PDZ-3G2E1 appears to be a 2Rx8 in sale listings such as on newegg or online.
The 8 Gb sticks are 1R8.
I don’t want to link to any specific online sales in case of conflict if 45drives is selling memory.
Was taking a look from what Hutch posted earlier too - I saw the posting on Newegg too and snatched some up. Man I’m getting excited for this build!
What kind of 4-pin Molex connectors are recommended? My PSU does not include any. Can you link any examples?
Do you think a Noctua NH-D15S (listed as exactly 160mm w/ fan) would fit? That is my current cooler
Otherwise, planning on swapping for an NH-D12L and selling the D15S to a friend
