If you can find it for me, that would be appreciated.
Thanks!
I guess this can replace a restore image?
they may also respond to your email, but i’d still just get the smallest SSD and put it out and put in something else, less hassle
I don’t see much need for having to “rollback” the SSD erasure to put back on Rocky Linux. In fact when I think about it, I don’t think I will ever need it.
HI @urbanracer34, I just checked with the team and no we currently do not have a public-facing image to restore the system back to how it shipped from us.
We are looking into this to come up with a way for existing customers to access to this image
Hello!
I noticed on the HL8 page that the ram listed is not ECC. It was ECC before.
Just wanted to let you know!
I emailed them about this and there were some changes made to the prototype. No more ECC RAM.
what’s the power supply requirement for hl8? for example max output on +5V, +12V etc… thanks!
I think it is subject to change, but for preorder they list the PSU as a “SilverStone Technology FX500-G 500W Flex ATX 80 Plus Gold”.

I was researching into the Silverstone fx500 power supply and many complains about the noise, so I was looking for alternative. I guess I’ll just have to get something similar spec.
I saw passive cooling one but looks like 5v rail wont have enough juice.HDPLEX 500W GaN AIO ATX Power Supply
Well the release version might not have the same PSU.
As far as the HDPLEX not having enough juice, I have run 8-bay mITX NASs fine with just 250W and 350W FlexATX PSUs using low TDP CPUs. A 3.5 HDD will draw about 2A very briefly on spin-up, but then settle in around 1A continuous, and I think that’s mostly related to the 12V for the mechanical, not the 5V for the electronics. Continuous draw for 8x drives should only be around 8-10A.
I’m not recommending them, but as reference these are the ones I’ve used in the past with 8x HDDs. I didn’t notice them being particularly noisy, but they also weren’t somewhere I was paying attention to keeping the noise floor really low.
there will always be complaints on 1U/Flex PSUs, they have to use tiny fans that spin FAST to get the flow. Heck there are people so sensitive to sound of fans the market is not making fanless ATX PSUs.
Any updates on shipping for the HL8? Is October still in reach?
Hi @deadprints,
Yes, we are still estimating the HL4/8 to start shipping pout by October 21st and we are going to go live for purchase this week!.
Thank you for your patience and support.
