I’m having an issue getting the X15 to power on after power outage. I have the bios set to Power On after AC Power loss, however, the MegaRAC SP-X does not boot the system after power loss and there doesn’t seem to be a setting to Power On after AC Power loss.
My current Unraid is set to tell my system to power down when my UPS has a power outage. When the power comes back on I need to access BMC and tell the system to power on.
I don’t think a cntrolled “UPS on stanfby power” shutdown event is the same as AC total power loss to the X15. As long as there is still power in the UPS battery to trickle feed the BMC, then the AC power is still on as far as the BIOS is concerned.
A solution might depend on exactly what UPS make/model you have and what else is connected to it. One option is that I believe Unraid has a “Settings → UPS Settings → Turn off UPS after shutdown” setting. You can try setting that to Yes. After Unraid cleanly shuts down, it will tell the UPS to compleely shut off the load. Then when mains power returns it should appear as an AC Power On event to the motherboard. Your spcific UPS might not support that command. And, it will shut off the load to all the UPS outlets, so if you have other things that need to stay on the UPS longer, like a 5G wireless home internet device, that would turn off along with the X15.
There might be a way to script something if you can’t shut off the trickle load, but that would depend on your UPS.

Taking the UPS out of it, if I shut down the system myself, pull the power plug, then plug it back in, the system doesn’t boot back up. In the last instance with the UPS the UPS ran out of power so it should boot back up when power restored. I went into the BMC and had to trigger Power On.

OK, that’s a simpler thing to diagnose. You might need to contact Gigabyte for guidance about any known issues in this area. I think on Level1Techs there were some power restore issues reported with the Rev 1.0 of the MW34-SP0, but the manual says the X15 is supposed to have the Rev 1.1. I don’t know if any BIOS or BMC updates fixed (or broke) anything in this area. You should be able to use ipmitool to confirm what the BMC side is set up for power restore if you can’t find it in the GUI, but I’m not sure the X15 version of Unraid comes with that utility (?), so you’d need to run it from another machine or find the recommended way to install it on the current version of Unraid if it isn’t preinstalled.
Sorry, I don’t have an X15, so besides pointing out the UPS trickle thing, I can’t give you specific troubleshooting steps, Gigabyte support probably can if no-one else here with an X15 chimes in.
