X11SPH-NCTF (RJ45) board not available?

i am looking to purchase an HL15 pre-built and i would like the RJ45 10GBe board X11SPH-NCTF however right now (5/19/2025) the web site builder page only lists the SFP version X11SPH-NCTPF as the ONLY option

is the X11SPH-NCTF out of stock?

hi @wallacebrf,

I would like to let you know that unfortunately the X11SPH-NCTPF is out of stock and we are currently testing new hardware for the HL15 2.0 version, and due to this we will not be offering this board anymore.

I apologize for the inconvenience and we appreciate your patience.

I don’t know if there will be a price increase with the HL15 2.0, but I kind-of feel there will have to be. If you are explicitly trying to get a HL15 with current hardware and not wait for the updates, you could get some 10GBASE-T SFP+ transceivers to use with the NCTPF.

45HL haven’t confirmed the new hardware, but if you weren’t aware of the upcoming refresh there is a bit of info here on what they had been testing; https://forum.45homelab.com/t/exciting-update-hl15-hardware-refresh-in-progress-community-feedback-in-action/3262. Depending on your use case and budget, it might be worth waiting. That board, if they use it, has two 10GBASE-T ports.

Of course you can always also add a NIC if you didn’t want to use transceivers.

thanks. I am aware they are making a HL15 2.0, and i wanted the current design.
I just placed my order and I am planning to do exactly as you said, and just get some SFP to RJ45 modules.

do you know if there are limitations on what modules work with the board?

I don’t recall seeing anyone complain about transceivers not working. There are a few posts here about the SFP+ ports on the board, but I think those have resolved to faulty networking on-board and RMAs. In general I don’t think SuperMicro intentionally tries to limit transceiver compatibility. I don’t have the X11SPH, but FWIW I have these ones in use on various equipment in my home network for a couple years that seem ok;

appreciate the support.

I, too, don’t think Supermicro’s implementation of the X722 chipset is vendor locked. I didn’t have any issues with the 10GTek SFP+ to RJ45 transceiver I used initially or now the DAC cables connected to my Unifi gear.
