What Would You Like To See Most? Suggest Topics for Future 45Homelab Videos!

Hello All!

Zack here. As mentioned in my last video, “Plex vs. Jellyfin” videos are going to be coming out much more regularly — so I wanted to get feedback from the community on what you’d like to see in future content for the 45Homelab YouTube channel!

We already have a few videos in the hopper. My plan is to cover both hardware topics (like adding drives, replacing components, etc.) and software how-tos (such as deploying SMB, building a ZFS pool, setting up monitoring, and more).

To start, I’d like to focus on more general topics that apply to the majority of users. But since this is Homelab after all, one of my favorite things is seeing how people are deploying their setups — whether it’s an HL15 or a mishmash of parts (like my own Proxmox server!).

So, who better to ask than the community?
Drop your suggestions below — what kinds of videos would you like to see that you think could benefit others in the Homelab world?

IMO the tutorial content I’ve seen out there have not touched on the real issue folks need help with switching from Plex to Jellyfin… and that’s recreating Plex’s seamless library sharing aspect to users. If it was only me watching content locally at home, I would have probably switched to Jellyfin a long time ago and not bought a lifetime plex pass.

Now I feel a bit stuck because plex really is a fantastic polished product that’s been the catalyst for building up my homelab to a home production Netflix with most of my family using it daily. Jellyfin would need to have a better interface, available on more clients & have a better way to make my family sign in/up to access my server remotely with minimal troubleshooting.
