Hello everyone, I am totally new to homelabbing, though I have some experience with servers. I want to get into DevOps and SysAdmin, and my friend who is senior in these fields told me to start with my own lab at home. I know that people who love what they do are the best at what they do, so I came here seeking advice.
Could you give me some advice on what is the best way to learn Linux in a comprehensive manner? How did you learn what you know? What are the steps to become a pro?
I also think having a larger need of some kind is a great motivator to learn. It really gives you an ability to apply those learnings. For a lot of us here, we want to use cloud services but don’t want to give up privacy or pay the cloud tax. Self-hosting and streaming my own media was one of my earlier desires. That’s what got me kicked started here.
+1 on Jay LaCroix and Learn Linux TV. He also wrote a book you can buy on Linux
I would also give a shout out to Nana Janashia of Techworld with Nana. She has an amazing Youtube channel, a ton of free content as well as paid training courses.
