I noticed that the web interface that comes with the HL15 (at least) has an ability to show which drives are in each slot.
I was wondering if someone could write up a plugin for unRAID to accomplish the same thing?
(Full disclosure. I’m not going to be using the preinstalled OS when I finally acquire an HL8)
Hi @urbanracer34, We have put a lot of time and resources into getting our systems to be able to be aliased and work with the Web UI tools.
I do not believe UnRAID allows you to modify and change the way their UI si and I’m unsure if anyone would be able to code that aliasing without having the exact hardware specs that you have as each time the hardware changes and PCIe cards are connected/disconnected the aliasing would change. At least in our software, it does as it uses the PCIe path for each drive and all of our systems are always wired the same way.

I am probably going to run an HL8.
I have heard that in future versions of unRAID (possibly version 7 which is in beta, not quite sure) modifying the unRAID UI may be possible.
Does this change anything?
I don’t use UnRAID, but is something like this what you are looking for?
