ROMED8-2T BIOS L4.11 and BMC 3.04.00

I recently acquired a ROMED8-2T motherboard for my HL15 V1.0 and I noticed I could not access the BIOS from the IPMI interface. I get the error included below. Looks like there’s a problem with BIOS P4.10 and/or BMC 2.08.00. I reached out to ASRock Support and they provided updated, but unpublished, firmware via a google drive link - BIOS L4.11 and BMC 3.04.00. This fixed the issue with the IPMI BIOS link.

Putting this information out there in case anyone with a HL15 V2.0 or a ROMED8-2T motherboard run into this issue.

I appreciate you double checking on this. You might be ok at the moment. I saw on another post that BIOS 3.80 shipped on their HL15 V2.0 which may not have the problem.

I ended up getting purchasing my board from Newegg and it had P4.10 and 2.08 already installed.

Hi, just to update thread above on my case. The issue was the MOBO - it came faulty out of the box. Shop I bought it from replaced it with new one with exactly same firmware and it worked fine. I have also updated then to the latest available online, but as you mentioned BIOS is not available from that menu (only via KVM) can you share unpublished firmware or point me a correct email address to ask for it?

I reached out via ASRock’s support form at ASRock Rack > Support Request Form. They were pretty quick in getting back to me (less than 24 hours).

Thank you for your patience while our team investigated this issue.

We have been able to narrow the cause down and confirm that it is not related to the BIOS version. Instead, the behavior appears to be tied to the BMC version. Our findings are outlined below for clarity:

  • BIOS 4.10 with BMC 2.02 works as expected

  • BIOS 4.10 with BMC 2.08 does not work as expected

At this time, we do not have any motherboards in our inventory running the newer BMC 2.08 version. This is why we had not previously encountered or observed this issue.

We wanted to make you aware of this finding and will continue to monitor the situation.

Hello, I am having the exact same problem, if anyone can send me these files. I would sincerely appreciate it. The updated BIOS and BMC. My new board does not have these updated BIOS and BMC files. I put in a support ticket with ASRock I hope they reply soon. Thanks everyone! ROMED8-2T recently purchased.
