Hi i try to figure what are 17.2". It is the case where serveur need to have 17.2" or the wide between vertical stud metalic of rack.
See my picture 1 for understanding. i have 452mm betwwen two metal verdical stud
On second picture is my case dimension, i have 436MM
im scarry to purchase and my case more bigger of lillte milimeters of 17.2"
see size of case picture 2
The description on the 45HL store is very bad. Just ignore the 17.2", that refers to the width (side to side) of a case that fits in a standard ‘19" wide’ rack. The important spec for the MCP-290-00058-0N is that they will telescope from 19.6" to 27".
So,you need at least 19.6" between the front metal stud and back metal stud. The measurement from one side of the rack to the other doesn’t matter.
The rails will only work with the 45Drives/45HL cases or Supermicro cases. I assume you are considering to buy them to use with an HL15. If you have some other case, you may not be able to attach them to the side of the case.
my worries is because my rack was by on amazon and dont know if wide is standard. for leng im ok.for wide if im biger thant standart the case will not slide of two side becase will have more space on side. in this cad i will need stepper and more longer screw for fit two rails the case in. with my picture and dimension i try to be sure will work spent 200$ canadian dollar on it.
If you have an Amazon link we can look at it. From your pictures it looks like a standard width opening.
i purchase that on amazon New 27U 4 Post Open Frame19 IT Network Server Rack 24" Deep W/L Rails Amazon.ca
Yeah, that’s a standard computer rack, you shouldn’t have any issues. In fact, I have the 31" deep version of same. HL15 mounted with the longer version of the MCP rails.
