I know some of the storinators have this boot drive backplane system, this pictture is of a Stornado F16. Is this something that could be easily added to an HL15 by purchasing t different rear case panel? I am assuming the Storinator and HL15 paneels all use same mount points, or is that not accurate?
P.S. I know there is the 3D printable SSD mount for the back, but the way its designed, the airflow looks to really only hit the top or furthest forward SSD.
For what it’s worth, I think the “45 Professional” version of the HL15 has the boot drive backplane;
See the second and fourth photos.
If you don’t need the drives to be removable, people have posted versions of the back panel caddy with the drives in different orientations, but you need to consider possible conflict with your CPU cooler; see eg;
Oh nice catch, I forgot about the Pro line, mostly because i have a feeling there is a surcharge for that line. most call for price stuff does. They don’t list it as empty chassis. Not that i need another 15bay. HL30 would be nice. Maybe I can get confirmation that rear fits and can be sold separate.
I just hate the 3D printed drive mounts, plastic is an insulator of heat, its bulkier and weaker than steel, and I don’t have a 3D printer as I have zero cad skills. my old non PCB storinators have proper metal brackets for SSD.
