MW34-SP0 / X15 motherboard: can I connect a 4-pin case speaker to FP1?

Hi everyone,

I’m using a 45Homelab X15 server with the Gigabyte MW34-SP0 motherboard, and I’m trying to figure out whether it supports a standard 4-pin internal PC speaker / buzzer.

The manual says the FP1 front panel header supports the speaker, but the speaker pin assignment is not clearly shown in the user manual. I can see the FP1 table for power switch, reset switch, LEDs, chassis intrusion, and related signals, but I can’t find a clear diagram showing which FP1 pins the speaker should connect to.

Has anyone here connected an internal speaker to the MW34-SP0 inside the X15? If so:

  • Is FP1 definitely the correct header?

  • Which exact pins are used for the speaker?

  • Does a standard 4-pin PC speaker connector work on this board?

Any confirmation, photos, or pinout details would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Not to be that guy but are you sure you need a speaker? The BMC should be able to provide you more info than beep codes ever will. Have you tried Gigabuye support?

I used it with scripts that play specific tones or melodies for certain server actions, so I could keep track of what the machine was doing without having to watch the screens all the time. I’ll also try checking with Gigabyte support to see if they can confirm the exact speaker support on this board.
