IPMI on HL15 v2

Has anyone had any issues logging in to IPMI
The manual suggests ADMIN for the username and a password which is printed on the side of the case.
I’ve tried both the 45Dr!ves one and the number.. but neither work.
There also doesn’t look to be any sticker on the motherboard anywhere.
A pretty bad first experience tbh, for this price it needs to be better.

Try admin/admin lower case for both.

If that doesn’t work send a note to info@45homelab.com and they’ll help you out.

I think in some countries there are regs that default logins can’t be the same like that for everyone, so you might need the number from a sticker, but perhaps that is just for WiFi and router type equipment.

The issue is 45HL didn’t update the documentation for the new system (Asrock Rack vs Supermicro motherboard, among other things) as part of the v2 release. Although the updates are appreciated, I’d agree that does make the release look somewhat amateurish.

After about 60 minutes of testing it turns out instead of ADMIN for the username, they used “admin”. So while the password was changed from default, the username wasn’t .. and all the documentation doesn’t match.

I ran into the same thing. I griped support and had an answer within the hour. This is a shipping process thing. Installer is giving each box a unique root password and a unique IPMI password. These can be printed on the shipping documents! Or stuck on the case as iXians do. Or set on first-boot by setting require password change option.
