Is there a guide or script similar to ubuntu-preconfig.sh that will install HoustonUI on Proxmox as it is intended and demoed on the Youtube Tech Tuesday videos?
Hello and welcome @rephormat! I’m not aware of one, but, in an older forum post, I did some testing around this topic. I was able to successfully install HoustonUI via the setup script from 45drives repo on Proxmox 8.2. Link to that specific part of the forum post is included below.
Hi! Something must’ve changed with Proxmox 8.3 as the ubuntu-preconfig.sh script fails on enabling network-manager.service. I will try installing Proxmox 8.2 and report back.
I believe the service name for network manager changed on newer Ubuntu versions which was causing the 45Drives script to fail. Maybe that happened with Debian and Proxmox 8.3 too? A while back, I worked on getting Ubuntu script to work with Ubuntu 22.04. Maybe this will work for you on Proxmox 8.3?
