HL8 production time

Just checking if anyone has gotten their HL8 yet? I ordered mine on Oct 5, been “in production” for a couple weeks now.

I was wondering the same so I reached out to 45HomeLab. Looks like the HL8 and HL4 is shaping up to be pretty popular and I’m still a few weeks out on my unit shipping. I pre-ordered and then placed my order on October 11th. I’m glad to hear there is demand for the HL8/4. I just need to practice a little more patience.

Patience is a virtue but also difficult if, like me, you also ordered the HL4 :slight_smile:

My HL8 was ordered Oct 22 and it is also “in production”. It would be helpful if 45drives provided a rough ETA to help manage delivery expectations. I can be be patient. However, this is also a case where the payment was fully processed and no ETA provided. These days, I believe most of us using eCommerce are used to having payment processed when the item has started delivery.

I ordered a bare chassis with power supply and am holding off buying the computer components until I receive the chassis. The closer delivery gets to Black Friday, the more I am hopeful for good deals on the computer components.

In the Netherlands, we are certainly used to being kept up-to-date often about the delivery of an online order. It is indeed strange that there is no correspondence about the delivery time. Also, it is very strange that no invoice is sent for payment, something that is quite normal in Europe and especially in the Netherlands.

Interestingly I just received an update from 45drives apologizing for the delay in shipping the order. No additional details were providing regarding when the order would ship; just that they were “addressing the delay and are focused on expediting its delivery”.

At least it is some level of commuication.

I’m US based and I no longer receive invoices for Amazon orders but they are available online. For most other eCommerce orders, I receive and invoice once the item ships. I’m sure 45drives will issue an invoice for the HLx orders once they actually ship.

Hey everyone,

I appreciate your patience, and I know that the communication sent out did not explain what the delay was about. I would like to let you know that we are overwhelmed by the response for the HL4 and HL8, and we are working diligently to complete all our orders and ship them out as soon as possible

MY pre-order was made on 9/23 and I made my order the day I received the announcement that I could complete the order. Still waiting for an update.

Thanks for the update. I’m personally not in an immediate rush for it. It’s more of the anticipation of waiting on a new toy that makes me anxious about it. lol

Update: I received notice that my HL8 has shipped on 11/27. I’m hoping that I receive it tomorrow! I also received notice that a portion of my order didn’t ship with the SSD Bracket I had ordered with the HL8, thankfully this was noticed by someone from 45 drive, and they’re ‘rush shipping’ it to me which should allow it to arrive before the system itself. I have no complaints regarding the mishap given that it was noticed in about a half a day from when the HL8 itself was shipped.
