Hello! So I ordered a barebones HL8 and added my own Aorus Pro AX motherboard. However I have tried two different NVME to SATA cards and neither are working. I was wondering if any one had a suggestion? Setting in the BIOS? Need to use a more specific card? I have two from ole Jeff Bezos, one with a ASM1166 Chip and one with a JMB585 Chip. Same result, the BIOS doesn’t recognize the NVME slot is populated, LSBLK only shows the 4 onboard drives, and none of the LEDS on the NVME card are lighting up.
Are you saying you bought an Aorus Pro AX B550i mobo to mimic the full build, or some other chipset? If B550, do you know if it is Rev 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, or 1.3?
IIRC, the full build uses the SilverStone ECS07;
Although, I am not aware of a reason why other adapters shouldn’t work. I think the Silverstone was chosen for its hot-swap drive support. I haven’t seen anyone mention BIOS settings related to these adapters. Will a regular NVMe SSD work in the slot? (Is it possible the slot is broken?)
Thanks @DigitalGarden ! I have ordered the SilverStone one. I will say after 3-457 more times of fussing with them I did get the ASM1166 card to start working…Not sure why…as the JMB585 detected a drive when i only had 1 plugged in, but when loaded with 4…the machine would not post.
As for the REV of my B550, its 1.3.
I think I am ok for now, and will try to remember to update this post after the SilverStone comes in, as I would rather use the SilverStone over random " COMeap NVME M.2 to SATA Adapter"
