I recently received - and built out - an HL8 at the non-motherboard level and have some minor feedback.
The second set of SATA cables are mislabeled (or incorrectly installed) with 3 labeled as 1 and 4 as 2. I put 6 drives in - from the left - and use cables 1-4 as appropriate then 3 & 4 for the second set of 2 drives when it should be 1 & 2.
Some of the steel case sheets are slightly bent or bowed so the top and front aren’t cleanly securing. The shipping box was in good shape so perhaps a manufacturing or assembly issue.
The screws around the hinge for the top’s pivot to the left are surrounded by metal dust; as if the surface wasn’t cleaned after drilling/assembling the screws.
I did a Craft Computing Minisforum-based build though with a GTek 6-port m.2 SATA adapter and it’s working great.

Hey @kaihanga,
I appreciate your valuable feedback, can you kindly send me some images so that I can share them with our team and make sure these feedback can be further looked at?
A picture of the “dust” around the screws. If you look in other pictures it’s all over the case interior. I should’ve cleaned it better before doing the build.
The bowing I’ve largely addressed by bending them into place so no pictures. It was the right side panel, front panel, and expansion cover.

Following up after a few weeks… system’s working great with no unexpected issues with the build or case & power supply.
I’m not planning any changes or improvements to the build, though I’m excited about adding a JetKVM soon.
