I’ve been considering getting an HL8, planning to wait until November to take advantage of cheaper HDDs. Recently, I noticed that the HL8/4 models now support custom front plates, and I had a few questions before I make my purchase:
How does 45HomeLab get the image for the custom front plate? There’s no option for it when adding the HL8 to the cart, so do I need to expect a staff member to reach out to me?
I’m not an artist, so I’m likely going to commission someone who knows what they’re doing. Are the dimensions for the front plate known? I see the dimensions in specs, but am unsure which parts would match up with the front plate specifically.
When ordering a custom front plate, are the captive screws also painted, or do they remain the same base color?
Is there an option to get the other sides of the HL8 in a color that matches the front plate more closely, if applicable?
If anyone has already ordered a custom front plate for their HL8, I’d really appreciate any insight you could provide.
I can’t answer your last two questions, but presumably for the right price they would one-off customize whatever you want. For the first two this might get you started;
Unfortunatly those topics don’t really help me sinec I’m not looking at the HL15. I’m not concerned with whether 45HomeLab can print a design on a case, more that I don’t know what the spatial limitations of the design are.
Based on the second post, if you send an email to info@45homelab.com they should be able to provide you a template before you order and answer any other spatial questions you may have.
