Hi @iownyrface,

We do not expect a change in price for the standard HL15 as of now.

You can email me at info@45homelab.com and i can arrange a toure for you nd you can pick up your order from here while you visit.

I’ll keep in touch

Might just get my order shipped as its other side of province but maybe in the summer as your area is the prettiest in NS

Can yesterdays Price be honoured?

Or Is the new 300$ Price Increase the new price

@Vikram-45HomeLab is this a general price increase or tariff related? If this is for the US tariffs why would prices increase for Canadians and other countries and not just units shipping to the USA?

How did you get the prices to show in CAD? I have been wondering that for ages!

Toggle at the top right
I see they changed the price again But still a fair bit higher than it was - I emailed them to see if they would do yesterdays price but Im a realist and not expecting it. Just wish I knew they were doing a quarterly increase

Maybe it’s different if you’re logged in but I see the drop down in the top left on my screen.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for the questions and the opportunity to address them. As we are all aware, both the USA and Canada have placed tariffs on cross-border trade effective as of midnight. Although we have assembly in Canada and shortly in the USA, which will help insulate our customers from the impacts of these tariffs, our supply chain to build the servers is impacted. Although we have had to adjust our prices in response to this, the 25% increase yesterday was in error (a miscommunication internally). The prices of servers have been adjusted by 10% on our e-store as of this morning.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Thank you to our homelab community for your understanding and continued support.

Cannot wait for 5U (longer) version. 4U HL15 is so close…but can’t even fit my 3080 FE (11.2") much less 4080 FE (12.3"). Height may also matter, but without GPUs - deal breaker.

Coming from meh but modded and working rsv-4500u (originally Norco 2200, never should have gifted it). Was looking at supermicro 826 until this, LFG and thank you!

Hey @OneMeanRabbit,

I appreciate your interest in the HL15 5U unit. We are working on this actively, and we will release a teaser soon, and start with the preorders as soon as possible. We do not have a date to provide at this moment, but we are working on this.

Can you tell, me what electronics you will be using in your build so that i can share that with our R&D department?

H12DSi-NT6 | Motherboards | Super Micro Computer, Inc. might be a good choice?

it could fit two 3090s, one on the first x16 slot, and the other on the 2nd x8 slot (which seems to have enough bandwidth anyway, so it shouldn’t affect performance, or will it?)

10 SATA3, 2 SATADOM, 4 NVMe

How would you imagine connecting 15 drives to this? Remembering this is HomeLab and presumably pricing is a factor, at least for an entry level configuration. Perhaps this is a “pro” option and entry level still uses the X11SPH. The two connectors for the 4x NVMe drives are MCIO connectors? Would you use those? Would you expect a UBM/Tri-Mode backplane that would support NVMe drives as well as SAS or SATA? I don’t know 45Drives’ status on that; I think they have a UBM backplane for 2.5 inch form factor, but I’m not sure about 3.5-inch form factor. Would you use one of the MCIO connectors and have the other 7 drives connected to the SATA ports, leaving the other MCIO free to use with drives in a mounting bracket? I assume you wouldn’t add an HBA as that would be additional cost and take up a slot.

Thanks Vikram, looking forward to it.

Do you know if there will also be a hardware revision coming soon? or if that will still take a while.

Hi @majorgiant,

Yes, we are currently in final stages of testing new hardware, and we will shortly update about this with our community and on our website.

There really is no reason (that I can think of) to make 2 versions of 4U & 5U, just make sure then base plate has mount points for both ATX & EATX motherboards.

After thinking about it while I was typing the above out, the only (kind of) reason I could think of is chassis depth, but IMHO, just make the longer version, unless it’s significantly deeper than the original version.

Chassis depth and height is a factor in most homelabs, or with prosumers looking for alternatives to larger capacity Synology/QNAP/Terramaster boxes. I have no need for an EATX mobo or a 5090 GPU. I don’t want a 5U box or one that is 26 inches deep.

I don’t necessarily think there needs to be four different options (4U regular, 4U long, 5U regular, 5U long}, but there needs to be at least two.
