I loved the simple look that HL15 had when there were no decorations on the front plate (picture here HL15 Configurations, What did you select and why?). Is there a way to order it that way with no decorations?

I reached out to them, and they said it’s $250 to customize it to be blank. It feels pretty expensive just to have a blank color, so I’m just going to stick with the default pattern.

I was worried they would say that. I assumed that getting bare metal would be cheaper than one with the graphics, but I guess that’s still a one-off. I might get some laptop skins and wrap mine now. 
Also, do they have any type of front plate that offers a filter? how are you guys filtering your dust out of your systems?

You could also just pull off your front plate, take it to your local powder coater, and they’ll probably do it for less than A100 bucks. Whatever color you want. usually minimums are like 60 to 80. for one small part for one color. They have a minimum price cause they gotta clean their gun and load in a color. If they happen to be doing a batch of that color like Matt Black or something, you might even be able to get it cheaper.

A can of spray paint would suffice as well, but that’s harder to get right. Personally I found a skin I like that’s glow in the dark, and have crazy ideas to have some UV LEDs pointing toward the front in my rack. It’s very….extra.

Just gotta call out @Vikram-45HomeLab here, I ordered my HL15 in black then saw this topic and emailed him as it was still in production and he made it happen there and then (well there’s a 15 hour time difference but you get the idea).

Thanks, this is great, I never did like the front graphics.
A factory silver (with plain front) would be awesome option! It would be a great addition for the Homelab market to match the ubiquiti gear many of us have.
