HL15 Firmware Updates Avaliable HBA & NIC

So I did my monthly update for my HL15 (AMD platform) and noticed in my 45Drives System I had a notification. It seems there is an update for my HBA and NIC. I was just wondering if anyone has seen this update and how it went for them updating it?

I’m running FW 24.00.00.00 on my 9400 without any issues. I updated all my firmware before deploying the hardware. I also did the update myself and not through the HoustonUI.

You’ll probably find two types of IT people when it comes to firmware updates: 1) if ain’t broke don’t fix it! or 2) why chance a problem that someone else already fixed? I personally fall in the number 2 camp.

Yeah I tend to fall under the 2 camp also. I just have never seen it under the Houston UI before for an update and I always like to see other people’s opinions if it works good. I’ve dodged alot of firmware updates to my Unifi setup because updating tends to break things and flashing those back is sometimes annoying.

I believe it was released last week. 45Drives put out a video on it that I watched. Looks like they did a nice job putting checks in place and only using the vendor supported toolsets.

Funny you should bring up the Unifi example as I see this cited a lot but that’s not been my experience. That of course doesn’t mean it hasn’t been yours, but I can’t say I’ve ever had a troublesome update from Unifi in the last 6 years. I even run release candidate updates. I also notice that Unifi recently made it easy to rollback firmware from the UI.
