HL15 Drive Noise Issue

I’m experiencing significant drive rattle/noise with my new HL15 that I didn’t have in my previous case. Currently running 8x 3.5" Exos HDDs in slots 1-8, with the case rack-mounted on rails.

The noise is pretty intense - it sounds like it’s shaking the whole case/chassis. I’ve tried adjusting the drives in their slots, but they fit very tightly with no wiggle room for repositioning. The noise is coming from all drives, not just specific ones, even at idle.

Should I try loosening the rail mounts on the sides of the case? Or are there other hardware modifications that have worked for people? The Exos drives are loud by nature, but this case seems to be amplifying everything compared to my old setup.

Has anyone found effective solutions for reducing drive noise in the HL15?

That is not something that should be standard.
I would suggest reaching out to info@45homelab.com to get a specialist of ours to work with you to figure out the source of the noise and see what we can do for you and get to the bottom of this. Especially if these drives are not chattering in a different set up.

is this when drives sleep and spin up by chance?

this is when the drives are already spun up, and at idle, i still hear them vibrating around
