The Beast is ready for testing and hard drives. Just thought I would post a pic.
Looks nice! Don’t leave us hanging on the deets though. Looks like custom build as the mobo doesn’t appear to be one of the stock choices. What parts did you use. Love the CPU cooler as I’d imagine it will work better overall than the stock option.
Sure. This build is for an Unraid setup, mainly running Plex with about 120TB in storage. But also handling a number of Dockers, but moved my VM’s to Proxmox on another machine a while ago. Being upgraded to allow multiple 4K streams. I seriously considered 45’s AMD setup, but just thought Quick Sync was too important so did the hardware on my own. Don’t plan to add a GPU but I can if I have to.
Hardware:
CPU - Intel Core Ultra 7 Processor, 265K, 30M Cache
Memory - Crucial Pro DDR5 Ram 128 GB
CPU Cooling - Noctua NH-D15 G2, Dual Towner CPU Cooler
Mobo - ASUS Pro WS W880-ACE SE Motherboard
Extra Port - 10GB SFP PCIe Network Card
Controller Card - SVNXINGTII SAS9305-24i LSI 9305-24i Logic Controller Card (24-Port SAS)
It may be hard with a build in place, but could you post a pic of the power distribution board and if possible one with the front off showing how the LFF backplane is mounted and the space underneath?
Does the power for the SFF backplane go through the PDB, or does it bypass it?
Does it seem like the SFF enclosure can be easily removed? Or is it welded in place as part of the metal cage?
