I’ve had my Beast for about 1 month now, overall it’s wonderful but there’s a few tweaks I’d make.
First, the data cables that came with the SSD bay were too short. It didn’t matter what HBA I used and what PCIe slot I’d put it in, they would not reach the card with enough slack to not pull on the card once secure.
Second is the power button. It’s not in a great spot and made it impossible get a screwdriver straight down onto the screw over the last IO Shield. This ties directly to my third feedback on those screws - they were too tight. I feared stripping them while taking out the shields I needed to get my various cards in. That fear doubled when I had to take the last one at an angle.
What I’d also love at this point is something between the standard HL15 and the Beast. Take the best, remove the SSD bay and poof, perfect.
