HL-15 with Noctua Upgrade

Hello I was poking around in the chassis, and decided to double check the Noctua fan controller; I ensured that no stop was enabled, and adjusted the dial to about 3 o’clock, 75%.

But when checking the IPMI to see how this changed the fans and CPU temp, I noticed that the fan sensors read as not present. Is this to be expected because the fan headers are not directly connected to the fans and instead through the NA-FC1?

I did notice a difference in CPU temp when running in optimal mode vs full.

Same here. HL15 with Noctua upgrade. IPMI Sensor Readings page shows “Not Present” for all 8 fan line items. I figured this because of the separate Noctua fan controller as well.

I have NA-FC1 set on lowest setting gives CPU 44 C at idle. 49 C under load but it not high end CPU.

is there a cable from the hub to a fan header?

I believe it is from the fan header on the motherboard to the fan controller

Hi @everyone,

I apologize for the delay in getting back.

I heard back from our team today, I was informed that when the Noctua fans are connected to the MB via the fan controller, the only way to adjust the fan speed will be through the fan controller as the connection to the motherboard only powers the fans and will not work with the IPMI settings.
