Help needed to install Sliding rails

Hey @everyone,

I would like to know if anyone of you has a rack with screw holes instead of the square holes? and how were you able to install the SuperMicro rails using the adapter that came with the rails. Our fellow homelaber wants our assistance on this.

My rack has threaded round holes instead of the square ones. I was not able to install it with the included rail hardware. I had to purchase an adapter.

Here is a thread where I put a few pictures of the rails attached to my rack. If you want, I can take a few more pictures later today. Just let me know if you are looking for something specific.

Gotcha! I understand now. I was thinking you drilled out the threads on the server rails. Drilling out the rack hole threads makes a ton more sense. The adapters took me several attempts to figure out an orientation that worked for my rack. I don’t believe they are marked left or right so I kept putting them on in a way that didn’t allow holes to line up. Here’s a few pics. I wanted to try to find some thumb screws for the rack ears, but the holes don’t quite line up with the ears. [image] …

I also suggested a while back that the adapter be available as an add-on with the rails the HL15 store. Doesn’t look like that suggestion was taken up but putting another plug out there.

It’d be good to offer the Supermicro Accessory MCP-290-00061-0N Non-Thread Rail Adapter for sale alongside the rack rails. I didn’t realize until I received the rails that the an adapter was not included. Updating the description on your Supermicro Rail Kit MCP-290-00053-0N would also be helpful for the few of us with round hold threaded rails.

My thread of what I did was already linked above but I just drilled out a couple of my threaded holes. I had bought the adapters but my rack was too shallow to use them.
