Hi guys
Got a comment thrown in a meeting, can’t say the source was / is impartial… please comment.
Apparently IBM/RedHat is looking to EOL CEPH / EOS.
Whats the customers future with Ceph, should this happen, support channels/options etc?

As far as we’re aware, there are no plans from IBM for Ceph to reach end of life.
In fact, there’s a Ceph conference happening next week that we’ll be participating in, and we haven’t heard any mention of an upcoming EOL announcement.
We’ll be sure to share any relevant updates that come out of the conference.
… This is coming out of Redhat as far as I can decipher.
It’s part of the push of Openshift platform and alternate plans.
Def require some deeper “insight” if this is true or FUDD by the partner in question to rather sway the discussion to their side.
Could you please share the source of this information? We are currently a Diamond Member with Ceph and have not heard any updates regarding this matter.
Thank you for clarifying. We appreciate your help in keeping us informed.
… trying to DM you.
Not coming right, pls ping me, let’s take it off public. I dont see direct message anywhere. otherwise ping me at georgelza@gmail.com

Ceph Platform Director of PM for IBM and Red Hat here.
We now have fourteen different Ceph products releasing regularly through three brands, two of which are IBM and Red Hat, as mentioned by OP.
There are no plans to discontinue Ceph at either IBM or Red Hat. Or at the third brand for that matter. Simple as that.
Hope to see you at Cephalocon next week.
