I just received my HL15. I had a bit of trouble getting the top off due to the filter keeping it from sliding back. But after taking the front completely off all is right in the universe. I’m not sure how the filter should be in there ,But I’ll deal with that at a later time. Also the CPU fan was loose. So had to right that. It is a proper bit of kit. Thanks to 45!! Happy Holidays to all.
That’s strange about the filter. Even with the magnets mine slips down into place with gravity, it’s hard to imagine it blocking the cover unless something is preventing it from dropping into place. The bottom of the finger cutout in the filter should align with the bottom of the finger cutout in the cross member holding the fans when in place. At that point it should also be bottoming out. I believe the magnets should be facing towards the front, or at least that would be what makes sense to me, I’m not sure which way mine was when it arrived. It seems hard to do, but maybe it was put in upside down?
I was lost at first thinking maybe 23 years in this is just not enough or worst I didn’t pay attention in computer building 101. Looking back I should have shot a video of my struggle. As I even have a hard time buying my own story. Now how the filter did it’s dastardly deed? We may never know. At this point all I can say is it is of very nice quality. I will give it a power on after Holiday. I do thank you for the pic of filter and I would like to know which way is proper for it. With that said I have not looked at the manual. I’m sure I will find my answer on the pages.
I am glad we got it all Figured out!
Merry Christmas!
