Any one have some help on how I can resolve the following error

Got the system awhile ago but then just turned it off for about 8 months. Fired it back up and got the following error. I would be down to just reinstall operating system if needed. What can I do to get this resolved? From what I remember I was trying to get the 2 10G ports connected and might have changed the password.

I suspect you’re booting into Emergency mode for the same reason as you can’t do anything in Emergency Mode - root account is locked. :no_mouth:

An usb bootable live linux distro should allow you to get back up and going again. There are a ton of options out there but I’d recommend starting with a one intended for this type of operation such as https://www.system-rescue.org/.

SystemRescue probably has a utility to unlock and reset passwords. If it doesn’t, you should be able to mount the file system to edit /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow.

Once unlocked, you should at least be able to get more information about what’s wrong.
