Hey folks, I’m Alex — a program and project manager in aerospace by day, homelabber and server tinkerer by night. Based in Huntsville, Alabama, I’ve been slowly converting my house into a full-blown data center (with family approval… mostly).

I run a mix of TrueNAS, Proxmox, and Docker stacks across several boxes. Currently rebuilding my main rig in a white HL15 with 18TB Seagate Exos drives, NVMe for ZFS special vdevs, and a 9305-16i HBA. I’ve migrated away from TrueNAS Apps in favor of Docker Compose stacks, managed via Dockge.

Always looking to optimize airflow, backups, and power efficiency — and to solve problems before they become 3 AM panics. Happy to be here, share what I’ve learned, and learn from the rest of you mad geniuses.
