It’s a little buried but 45HomeLab confirmed in another post that this revision will not have a tri-mode backplane for U.3/NVMe.

Update for the HL15 2.0

Hi Bharro, unfortunately, we will not be using the tri-mode backplane in this update. We will definitely keep this in mind for future revisions and products.
